Colorado trophy
a moose of a deer from Colorado. Hanging above my mantle right now.
Hunting is a great sport to do with your family, kids, friends, or co-workers. It is a great way to have fun on the weekend also. The picture on the left is a picture of a huge buck God blessed me to take home. It was a cold eary morning, one of those mornings you just know you are gonna see something by that so familiar knot in your stomach. I was thinking about getting back to the warm camp and getting some coffee and toaster strudels, when I heard some branches of a tree making some commosion. I looked to my right only to find a huge buck only 40 yards away from me. i knew at this moment that every move was crusial. as he was walking to a tream in front of me i pulled up my gun. He snapped his head back faster than the snapp of a finger. He was staring right at me. I waited there felt like an hour which in reality was about 5 seconds. after he stared at me he proceeded to the water stream spookily. i continued to get my gun up, my stomach in one big knot. I got it up and lined the scope up, missing many chances to shoot for fear of knowing how easy it would be to miss this deer. Finally when he leaned his head down to drink from the stream i shot, he ran and crashed in the bushes. and as im typing this now i am looking at him above my mantle. thank you Lord.
Ole Blue...
This picture of a blue heeler (left) is our good ole tracking dog. His name is Blue and he is fixing to make 4 months old, and he is already an exceptional dog. We are going to train him to track deer if we make a bad shot and they run a good length aways; he will be able to track their blood trail. For a puppy, he is acceptional it took a max of two minutes to train him to sit, stay, and steady. This is one of the pretiest blue heelers we have ever had. And he is a deer camp dog all the way! He will chase rats, bark at birds, and fall asleep in the sun on the porch once he's eaten some scraps. i would reccomend a blue heeler to anyone. I have no doubt that he is gonna be the best hunting dog we've had in a while.
Fishing
Last weekend a couple friends and I payed a visit to the Yalobusha River. We were blessed enough to get 28 stripped bass; we had been thinking about where we wanted to put our time at for a while and had decided on a very secluded area that hardly anybody knows about, but thanks to us knowing the game wardens, we knew about it. It was a beautiful morning amd the fish were biting. The fish sure were hungry every time we casted out the bobber went "plunk!" and we would real in a biggin'. We kept only the best and headed home to have a fish fry. We ate high on the hog that afternoon. they had a certain freshness i havent tasted before. It was a fun trip and i'm glad i got to be a part of.
